NanoTCAD ViDES
NanoTCAD
ViDES is a device simulator able to compute transport in nanoscale
devices. In particular, it solves self-consistently the 3D Poisson
and quantum transport equation within the NEGF formalism. To get
an idea of its capabilities, refer to the publication
section of this site, in which simulations based on results
provided by NanoTCAD ViDES are shown. We
are pleased to announce that the first version of NanoTCAD VIDES
is now released under the BSD license. The provided version of
the code deals with next generation devices with generic gate
geometries: -
Silicon Nanowire FETs. -
Carbon Nanotubes FETs. - this capability have been
recently released ONLY on the nanohub (click on the picture
below to be redirected). You can try
an user friedly version of NanoTCAD ViDES based on rappture on
the nanoHUB at Purdue University at https://www.nanohub.org/tools/vides/
(click on the nanoHUB logo to be redirected) We
are open for collaboration! So if you have an interesting project,
just contact us.
GNR-FET modules have been not yet released under the
open-source license, but they can be released within a collaborative
project: if you are interested, just contact us.
Our aim is to provide to the research community a tool able to
foresee and asses performance of device at the end-of-the-roadmap.
In addition, due to the versatility of the code, we hope that
NanoTCAD ViDES will became a starting point for the nanoelectronics
groups, which seek a well established tool to be further improved
by physical models developed by their own, in order to reduce
duplication of effort and speed up the learning curve of young
physicists and engineers.
Enjoy!
